About Koushal 2026

Students interested in participating in the Quiz, Poster, and Reels Competitions must first appear for the Preliminary (School-Level) Online Examination. The examination can be taken using a mobile phone, laptop, or tablet.

Syllabus for the Preliminary Examination

The examination will include questions from:

• Mathematics, Physics and Biology — syllabus covered up to October for the respective class.
• Indian Contribution to Science — contributions and achievements of India in the field of science.
• Bharat Darshan — Geography of India.

1Quiz Competition

Eligibility

Each school can nominate 10 students from each of Classes 8, 9 and 10 to participate in the preliminary examination.

Selection of Schools for the District-Level Quiz

• The highest-scoring student from each class (Classes 8, 9 and 10) will be considered for determining the school's overall score.
• The marks of the top-ranked students from Classes 8, 9 and 10 will be combined to arrive at the School Score.
• Based on this combined score, the top 36 schools in each district will be selected to participate in the District-Level KOUSHAL Quiz Competition.

2Poster Competition – 1

Theme: “Green Energy Resources – A Sustainable Future”

Eligibility: Students of Class 8 are eligible to participate.

The second-ranked student of Class 8 in the School-Level Preliminary Online Examination will be eligible to participate in Poster Competition – 1.

3Poster Competition – 2

Theme: “Responsible Artificial Intelligence – Ethics”

Eligibility: Students of Class 9 are eligible to participate.

The second-ranked student of Class 9 in the School-Level Preliminary Online Examination will be eligible to participate in Poster Competition – 2.

4Reels Competition

Theme: “The Life and Research Contributions of Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow”

Eligibility: Students of Class 10 are eligible to participate.

The second-ranked student of Class 10 in the School-Level Preliminary Online Examination will be eligible to participate in the Reels Competition.

District-Level Selection for Poster & Reels Competitions

From the eligible students participating in Poster Competition – 1, Poster Competition – 2, and the Reels Competition, only the top 20 students from each district will be selected for the District-Level Competition.

The selected students from Classes 8, 9 and 10 will participate in the District-Level KOUSHAL Competition.

At the District-Level Competition:

• Class 8 students will create and present a poster on “Green Energy Resources – A Sustainable Future.”
• Class 9 students will create and present a poster on “Responsible Artificial Intelligence – Ethics.”
• Class 10 students will create and present a reel on “The Life and Research Contributions of Dr. Yellapragada Subbarow.”

Students will be required to present and explain their work to the judges at the District-Level Competition.
